The Process

LET'S TALK!

Each couple will chat with Christine to discuss and plan their wedding needs. During COVID, we are offering phone or virtual meetings only. She adores ensuring that each couple is represented in their cake through design, colours and flavour. The consultation can be booked by emailing us at info@mollycake.ca.  This part of the process usually takes 45 minutes and we discuss event details, budget, flavour and design options. 

CAKE TASTING 

Undoubtedly, one of the best parts of planning a wedding!  And sharing is totally optional - forget the wedding diets for one day, we don't judge.  

Tasting Boxes Usually scheduled 4x per year, you come in to pick up the tasting boxes and you may choose to stay and enjoy it or you may choose to take it home and enjoy it privately.  This offers 6 flavours of cake and is $40 per tasting box.  If you book your cake with us, the cost of the tasting will be credited against your final payment on cake / dessert orders 500+.  This does not include delivery.

Group Tasting: (Due to COVID restrictions, this option is currently unavailable) We offer samples of up to 6 different flavours of cake in a group scenario.  These are set dates that are scheduled sporadically, usually paired with an event with another business (wine tasting, tea pairing etc.).  You must RSVP in advance with payment, which will be commensurate with the event taking place. 

Custom Tasting **NEW as of July 19, 2021** This must be booked with a minimum of 14 day’s notice. You will be able to choose up to 6 different flavours which we will prep in cupcake form. Once you have sampled the flavours we will discuss your favorites and finalize your flavour details.  The cost of this is varies based on the number of flavours you choose.  All or a portion of the cost may be credited to your final payment, on cake / dessert orders over $500 (before delivery).  Book your tasting now. 

Booking

We tend to book up 2-3 months in advance for weddings.  Once you have decided to move forward with us, we require a 25%, non-refundable retainer in order to hold your space.  Without the retainer, your space is not guaranteed.  Changes can be made (max 10% either way) up to 3 weeks prior to your wedding. This is when the final balance is due. COVID RULES: What a crazy ride it is! While COVID still plays a significant role, we have reduced our non-refundable retainer from 50% to 25%. If your date needs to change due to COVID, that retainer will move with you and we will do everything we can to accommodate your new date.  If the event is cancelled due to COVID, the retainer can be converted to a one year store credit for use as you wish.  The final payment, usually due 3 weeks prior to your event, is not due until either we know 100% that your event is taking place as planned, or we have to begin work on your cake.  Often this means the final payment will be due the week prior / of your wedding date.
